Why it Matters
Personalized early learning for

Personalized early learning for every child, from day one
Early childhood, ages 0 to 7, is the most important window for shaping lifelong learning, behaviour, and wellbeing. Yet most children do not receive truly personalised support during these critical years.
Not because teachers lack expertise.
Teachers build deep knowledge of every child over weeks and months in the classroom. They see how children learn, play, communicate, and grow. They notice patterns, understand strengths, and recognise where support may be needed.

The Problem
The real bottleneck is time and tools.
The real bottleneck is time and tools.
The real bottleneck is time and tools.
Too often, that professional insight stays informal. It lives in memory, scattered notes, or conversations that are difficult to track over time. When it comes time to personalise learning, align with colleagues, or communicate with parents, teachers rarely have a structured way to capture what they already know.
Our founder, Aubrey Reiser-Ng, saw this problem repeatedly during her work in early childhood development. Teachers could describe a child’s strengths, struggles, and progress in remarkable detail during conversations with colleagues or parents. Yet when it came time to document that insight, the available tools either belonged in clinical settings or reduced development to narrow checklists.

Our Solution
So we built SmartAssessment™.
So we built SmartAssessment™.
So we built SmartAssessment™.
SmartAssessment™ is a teacher-led developmental assessment designed for everyday classroom use. In about 20 minutes, teachers answer guided questions across seven developmental domains, structuring the knowledge they have built over weeks or months into a clear developmental profile with next steps.
The result is better-informed teaching, clearer parent conversations, and more confident decisions about when additional support may help.
We believe teacher expertise is the foundation of personalised learning. Our role is to provide tools that make that expertise structured, shareable, and actionable, so every child can receive the support they need during the years that matter most.

How It Works
How we work
How we work
How we work
SmartAssessment™ was co-developed with clinical psychologists specialising in early childhood development. The methodology is grounded in evidence-informed practice and structured around seven core developmental domains.
The platform is designed to fit teacher workflow, not replace teacher judgement. Teachers assess children they know well, drawing on accumulated classroom knowledge rather than relying on a single moment of observation.
SmartAssessment helps educators communicate what they already know. It turns professional observation into structured developmental evidence that supports teaching decisions, parent engagement, and timely referrals when specialist support may be appropriate.
Clinical diagnosis remains the responsibility of qualified professionals.

Can we use SmartAssessment for enrollment screenings or first-day assessments?
Yes! SmartAssessment works for enrollment and intake assessments. When teachers don't yet know a child well, we recommend having parents join the session. Teachers can ask parents questions and draw on parent input and classroom interaction to complete the structured profile. This approach captures a comprehensive developmental snapshot while building parent partnership from day one.
What do the assessment results look like?
Each assessment generates a clear developmental profile showing the child's progress across 7 developmental domains. Results include visual indicators (on track, advanced, needs support), plain-English summaries for parent conversations, and specific recommendations for teaching strategies. Reports are available immediately after completion and can be shared digitally or printed.
What do we need to use SmartAssessment™?
SmartAssessment™ is web-based and works on any device with internet access—tablets, laptops, or desktop computers. No special equipment or software installation required. Teachers can complete assessments from anywhere with an internet connection.
How is children’s data protected?
SmartAssessment™ is built with privacy and security as core priorities. All child data is encrypted and stored securely in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Only authorized staff at your center can access your students' information. We never share or sell data to third parties.
How long does the Teacher Certification Program take?
The certification program is a two-part process combining theory and hands-on practice. Most teachers complete it in 4 hours. The training is designed to fit around your center's schedule and is available both in-person and virtually.
What support do we receive after certification?
Certified centers receive ongoing support, including technical support on tool usage and consultations on developmental concerns. We're committed to ensuring your team feels confident using SmartAssessment long-term.
How often should we assess each child?
Most centers assess children 2-3 times per year (beginning, middle, and end of year) to track developmental progress over time. Some centers also use SmartAssessment during key transitions—such as new enrollment, moving to the next class, or when considering specialist referrals. The frequency is flexible based on your center's needs and goals.
Does every teacher need to be certified, or just some?
We recommend certifying the teachers who will be conducting assessments—typically lead teachers or those responsible for student evaluations. Not every staff member needs certification. Many centers start with 2-4 teachers and expand from there based on their assessment workflow and needs.
